fred1st > To lie down in green pastures...Buffalo Mountain in the distance. This flock grazes a few miles from home.

fred1st > I don't think this one made the cut. In the small image, It was hard to tell exactly what was happening here. An old piece of horse-powered farming machinery had been left idle along the margins of a long vanished farm; a cherry tree had grown up into and around it. This image would have gone with the Time Machine piece on page 52.
fred1st > This composite image shows the tree-trimming helicopter AND the low flying jet, images taken seconds apart and from the same place out near the garden. Floyd County Airspace appears on page 136.
fred1st > Hard to believe I don't have any writing about spiders because I have hundreds of spiderweb images taken in the pasture while the sun strikes webs before the ridge is in the sun, creating a wonderful backlighting that some photographers (like me!) just love.
fred1st > Butterfly kisses--the father of the bride has given her away. For Better or Worse, page 120.
fred1st > This is a "HaHa" image--the mind does a double-take, seeing what it looks like (a goofy snarky muppetoid face) then what it is (two stinkbug nymphs on a hibiscus bud.) This image inspired and compliments the "Ah, the Aha, and the HaHa" on page 186. I consider this a core message of this book.
fred1st > Trillium from the banks of Nameless Creek
fred1st > I originally had a dozen pieces in the book about the dog, taken from what I called my "Alpha Male" series I started when Tsuga was a puppy. I took most of them out thinking maybe that could be its own book someday. We'll see.
